Just 80 miles east of Seattle, the cities of Cle Elum and Roslyn are on the eastern slopes of the Cascade Mountains. During Fall and Winter, popular activities include hunting, snowmobiling, downhill, nordic, and cross-country skiing and family-friendly horse-drawn sleigh rides. In the Spring and Summer, visitors enjoy fishing, boating and rafting the pristine alpine lakes and rivers. Local outfitters help guests gear up to take advantage of the sunshine as they hike, picnic and ride horseback.  Anglers will cherish time on Washington State’s only "Blue Ribbon" fly fishing river, the Yakima. The Cascade Mountains Alpine Lakes Wilderness area is an ideal playground for seasoned outdoor adventurers and day-trippers alike.

The name Cle Elum means "swift water" in the language of the Kittitas tribe, and was given to a river, town, and a beautiful tranquil lake that was created by the construction of the Cle Elum Dam.

It's not Ciscly, Alaska, but it's close

Cle Elum’s historic district features the Carpenter Museum, the oldest operating bakery in Washington State, and the historic Milwaukee RR Depot and Iron Horse B&B at the Iron Horse State Park.  Visitors may opt to spend the night in a real caboose or to visit the state’s largest destination resort, Suncadia.

Just minutes from Cle Elum, the historic coal mining town of Roslyn hosts 27 ethnic cemeteries, a charming Sunday Market, a coal mining museum and the state’s second-oldest continuously operating Saloon, "The Brick".   Roslyn also served as the setting of the Emmy-winning television show Northern Exposure, and fans won't want to miss the Oasis Café.
